Travis Kelce Suggests Taylor Swift Encourages Him to Keep Playing Amid Uncertainty About His Future with the Chiefs

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship is called into question: It's not true love

Travis Kelce has shared insights on how Taylor Swift, his talented girlfriend, has inspired him during a time filled with speculation about his retirement. Even though he has considered stepping away from the game, Kelce emphasized Swift’s uplifting support, which encourages him to continue.

“She’s completely supporting me in enjoying this sport,” Kelce mentioned during an appearance on the Stephen A. Smith Show.

“She enjoys visiting Arrowhead [Stadium] to cheer me on, so I feel motivated to keep pursuing my aspirations.”

Kelce’s Tough Season

Kelce‘s 2024 season has been challenging, marked by a decrease in his typical performance with 97 receptions for 823 yards and just three touchdowns—his lowest figures in 12 years.

Notably, his continued excellence resulted in a 10th consecutive Pro Bowl selection, securing his spot among the greatest in the league.

Former Chiefs great Tony Gonzalez holds the record for the most Pro Bowl selections by a tight end, with 14, presenting Kelce a new milestone to aim for if he continues his career.

As he reflects on his play, Kelce spoke about the internal struggle he faces each offseason.

“I’m looking forward to finishing these next few games this season,” he expressed. “I’ll assess everything as I always do and probably remind myself how much I love this game, which will lead me to return next year.”

The Chiefs are heading into Saturday’s game against the Texans as the top seed in the AFC, boasting an impressive 15-2 record. A victory would secure their position in the AFC Championship Game, where they may face the Buffalo Bills, led by MVP candidate Josh Allen, or the Baltimore Ravens with fellow MVP contender Lamar Jackson.

Kelce remains dedicated to assisting his team in pursuing another Super Bowl victory but is also reflective about his contributions.

“Considering retirement is always important, and I never want to reach a point where I’m not benefiting my team’s success or causing more harm than good,” he concluded.
