Reports from the UK indicate that Guardiola’s recent contract extension with Manchester City until 2027 played a significant role in the decision to separate: “The catalyst for this break-up seems to be Pep Guardiola’s two-year contract renewal with Manchester City.” According to journalist Lorena Vazquez, The Sun reported that “the couple’s final months together were marked by tension.”

An evening meal at Bodega Sepulveda, one of Guardiola’s favorite establishments, also contributed to the unraveling of their relationship, as an uncomfortable incident occurred. In October 2024, both were present at the restaurant, attempting to keep a low profile, yet the issues they faced did not go unnoticed.
The waiter revealed: “They were seated in a corner and the atmosphere became tense. Guardiola was quite animated in his discussions. We were all surprised when we later learned about their breakup.”
