Al Roker Mourns the Passing of His Former Spouse Alice, Who Has Died at 77

Alice Bell, who was married to the well-known weatherman Al Roker, has passed away at the age of 77. The news was shared on Instagram by their daughter Courtney Roker Laga on February 10. Although Roker has not made an official statement about Bell’s death, he was absent from his role on the “Today” show the following day. Roker and Bell were married for about ten years, from 1984 to 1994, and adopted their daughter Courtney in 1987, as reported by People.

In a touching tribute to her mother, Roker Laga, who is a culinary school graduate and recipe tester, expressed, “She was my mother, my heart, and the most loving grandmother to Sky. I was with her for her last breath, and I will carry her love with me always.” Sky is Roker Laga’s daughter, born in July 2023. She also shared heartfelt images of her mother with Sky and memories from her childhood.

Information about Al Roker’s first marriage is scarce, but it ended in divorce. He then married Alice Bell, a New Yorker and UCLA graduate who worked as a producer at WNBC during the 1980s while Roker was a weather anchor for the station.
