Ben Affleck is reportedly feeling uncomfortable about Tom Cruise‘s new romance with actress Ana de Armas, who is an ex-girlfriend of Affleck’s.
Sources indicate that the actor is experiencing a blend of jealousy and unease as his acquaintance from the film industry gets closer to someone he has a history with.
A source told DailyMail.com, “Ben has a bit of a jealous side.”
He had strong feelings for Ana, and their breakup affected him. Seeing her happy with Tom, whom he knows, is awkward for him.”
Their Relationship Began During the Pandemic
Affleck, aged 52, was in a relationship with de Armas from March 2020 to January 2021. Their romance was highly publicized during the pandemic, though it ended quietly. Meanwhile, Cruise, aged 61, and de Armas, 37, are said to have started dating around Valentine’s Day, and they were recently seen enjoying a cozy stroll in a London park on her birthday.
Ana was seen smiling in casual attire, while Cruise remained close at hand, accompanied by security.
In addition to personal insecurities, Affleck is also noted to feel some professional envy towards Cruise’s successful acting career.
A source mentioned, “Every actor has some envy towards Tom’s level of success.”
“Ben is no exception. Tom is still a major box office draw in his sixties, and Ben aspires to achieve that kind of lasting success.”
Some friends of Affleck even humorously suggested that he should “get back” at Cruise by dating Katie Holmes, Cruise’s ex-wife, who is reportedly single. Though this remains unlikely as Holmes resides in New York and Affleck is in Los Angeles.
Furthermore, both Affleck and Cruise share past romantic ties with Gwyneth Paltrow. Affleck had an on-and-off relationship with her from 1997 to 2000, while Cruise shared a memorable kiss with her in Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002), a moment Paltrow once described fondly.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez, Affleck’s ex-wife, has recently discussed her life post-divorce. In an interview, she expressed that her teenagers, Max and Emme, helped her stay grounded during a tough period.
She stated, “I assured them that although this was hard, they would see me emerge stronger and better.”
“I’m proud to have guided them through this; we all grew from it.”
Despite their split, Affleck and Lopez maintain a friendly relationship. Their kids recently attended the premiere of The Accountant 2 together, showcasing their strong family ties.
