Known for his frequent controversies, Kanye West remains a polarizing figure in the music industry. The American rapper has once again captured headlines due to various provocative actions, including his relationships and public disputes with the ‘Kardashian family’, as well as his erratic social media presence.
Recently, the artist faced severe backlash, including termination by his management over offensive remarks relating to Nazism and for promoting merchandise featuring a swastika. Moreover, in late March, Ye was spotted in a talk wearing a black robe emblazoned with ‘KKK’ (Ku Klux Klan).
The rapper has stirred up fresh controversy with the release of his new single ‘Heil Hitler’, which has already been banned by numerous music services like Spotify and SoundCloud. The track, publicized through a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), has gathered over nine million views.
Controversy Surrounding Kanye West’s ‘Heil Hitler’
The music video for the song, shared by the artist on his official social media, features a group of African-Americans giving the Nazi salute inspired by Adolf Hitler. The single’s cover prominently displays a swastika.
Before unveiling the track, Kanye had tweeted a quote from Hitler’s 1935 speech, which included sentiments about his service and dedication, urging, “If you believe I have worked hard, show your support now.”
Although the song can still be accessed on X from the rapper’s profile, numerous platforms have opted to remove the single due to its Nazi affiliation. West has previously proclaimed his admiration for Nazi ideology while attacking the Jewish community.
