Karoline Leavitt’s makeup mishaps stem from her attempts to embrace a Republican makeup trend. The main problem is that many who follow this flashy style prioritize quantity over quality. Instead of refining their techniques and selecting cosmetics that suit them, conservative figures like Leavitt tend to use too many products, mistakenly thinking that’s the key to looking good on camera. This approach leads to unfortunate makeup choices, particularly with her eyebrows.
Leavitt often seems to be reminiscing about her initial lessons in eyebrow makeup, applying products that are overly dark for her light hair. In fact, she is sometimes seen with brown smudges above her brows—evidence of her heavy-handedness in application.
Unfortunately, overdrawn eyebrows can give her an unintentional villainous vibe, especially when she delivers insensitive comments. For instance, she displayed this eyebrow look while dismissively discussing Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a father unjustly imprisoned under the Trump administration. Despite the acknowledgment of an administrative error leading to Garcia’s detention, Leavitt mocked both him and the media in a recent press briefing, quipping that attendees would think they had deported a “candidate for Father of the Year.” It would be refreshing to see her channel some of that effort into showing empathy rather than eyebrow fashion.
