While singing her popular song “Part of Me,” Perry encountered a wardrobe mishap.
Rather than panicking, Perry maintained her performance until a team member hurried onto the stage to fix the clasp.
“Please put my bra back on, Patrick,” she joked, prompting enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. Ever the comedian, Perry remarked that attendees “hadn’t spent enough” to see her without clothing, before fluidly returning to her singing.
A Staged Showdown
The excitement didn’t end with the clothing mishap. Later in the same concert, Perry staged a dramatic confrontation with an audience member named “Kyle.”
In a leotard and fishnet stockings, she positioned herself to speak with the startled individual, accusing him of messaging her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, for several months.
“I know your intentions,” she said, her voice escalating. “If you keep sending DMs to my partner, I will have you escorted out—seriously, make your own life. He’s not interested in you, Kyle. I belong to him, he belongs to me… stay away.”
The crowd burst into laughter and gasps—until it was revealed that the exchange was part of the promotional setup for her upcoming single, “I’m His, He’s Mine.” Though staged, it effectively injected a fresh vibe into her performance.
Nonetheless, despite these theatrical efforts, Perry‘s recent tour and public persona have faced increasing difficulties.
Her Lifetimes tour, aimed at highlighting her critically received seventh studio album, “143,” has seen disappointing ticket sales, delays—such as lengthy delays in Minnesota—and numerous show cancellations.
The promotional push was additionally hampered by Perry‘s headline-making flight on Jeff Bezos‘ Blue Origin spacecraft.
What was meant to be a groundbreaking achievement for women in space travel has stirred significant backlash, with many criticizing Perry for seemingly engaging in a disconnected publicity stunt.
