Matty has addressed speculation regarding his upcoming album with The 1975, clarifying that it will not focus on his past relationship with Taylor Swift. There’s a buzz suggesting that Swift’s latest release, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, is packed with nods to their brief romance in 2023.
Healy is currently immersed in creating his sixth album, with reports from The Sun indicating that the lead single, titled “God Has Entered My Body,” has stirred conversation in the studio, as some believe it references his fleeting romance with Taylor Swift.
An insider claims that this song is filled with clues about their summer relationship, which ended quickly. Although there’s no official release date yet, anticipation is high, particularly among Healy’s fans and Swift’s dedicated supporters.
Healy discusses speculation
At 35, the musician offered a succinct response that raised more questions than it answered, likely in hopes of heightening curiosity ahead of the album’s debut.
He chose an unconventional platform, posting on Reddit the phrase: “Huge if true”, which left fans pondering his true sentiments behind those few words.
Notably, Healy remarked previously that he doesn’t feel pressured to incorporate details of his personal relationships into his music, although he believes it’s fair to discuss certain aspects outside of artistic expression. We will see if he maintains this stance.
Unresolved tensions?
Following the breakup, it appeared that Taylor and Matty may have harbored some lingering grievances. This speculation is bolstered by the release of Swift’s song ‘The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived‘,
which reportedly left Matty taken aback after he recognized he was mentioned in several tracks from her eleventh album. A source close to Healy shared with Us Weekly that he has mixed feelings about this album set to launch in April 2024.
“He appreciates the attention it has garnered, yet finds humor in their relationship’s seriousness level,” the source elaborated.
