Rachel Campos-Duffy, known for her strong Catholic beliefs and conservative ideals, is also unafraid to flaunt her physique. At the Fox Nation Patriot Awards in November 2022, she wore a short white dress that highlighted her well-toned legs, a striking contrast to the serious injuries they have sustained. These legs, while looking fabulous, carry stories of past trauma from a severe car accident in her twenties.
In 1996, shortly after her appearance on MTV’s “The Real World,” she was in a car with her then-boyfriend and a friend when they were hit head-on by a dozing driver. The impact threw her from the vehicle, resulting in significant injuries to her legs. In a past column for HuffPost’s ParentDish, she reflected on the tragic outcome: both her boyfriend and the driver did not survive.
The aftermath of the crash left Campos-Duffy with lasting difficulties. She mentioned, “I suffered severe injuries to my right leg that continue to affect me today, including arthritis and a limp.” Even though running a marathon may be out of reach for her, she maintains her fitness in other ways, especially as a mother of nine. Now in her fifties, she still finds occasions to showcase her fit form.
