It’s been five years since the launch of the second season of Euphoria. Initially, it appeared the show would conclude, capping off a series that many have cherished as one of HBO Max’s finest. Most cast members have experienced significant success since then, particularly Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya, who are both confirmed for the upcoming third season. Sweeney recently shared some insights regarding the new developments in the series.
Currently busy promoting her film ‘Echo Valley’, in which she stars alongside Julianne Moore for Apple TV+, Sydney touched upon her anticipation for the upcoming season from creators Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin. She mentioned that ‘Euphoria’ holds a unique significance for her, which fueled her desire to return to the series.
“Cassie holds a dear place in my heart, and I truly appreciate her”, she noted. “She’s quirky and makes numerous errors. Her imperfections are apparent, yet she pursues everything with love, even if it might be a bittersweet kind of love. Portraying a character as unpredictable as her is simply delightful,” Sweeney expressed regarding her role.
Addionally, Sweeney elaborated on what inspired her return to Cassie’s character and acknowledged the mastermind behind this “wild” third season: “Collaborating with Sam Levinson is fantastic. After reading something, I’ll reach out to him and say, ‘Let’s amp it up.’ And he responds, ‘Absolutely! This season is going to be fantastic.’
