John Roberts has been open about his heart health challenges
Fans of John Roberts are likely aware that the Fox News anchor has always been transparent about his health challenges. In a 2018 conversation with Variety, he recounted an incident from the previous year when he questioned Donald Trump after the then-new president dismissed Jim Acosta. He clarified that his actions were not motivated by any bias against his CNN peer or support for Trump; instead, he described feeling like he was experiencing a heart attack. He expressed, “From the moment I woke up until that press conference, I was worried about collapsing in front of everyone.”
Years later, after undergoing three stent procedures, Roberts revisited his heart health during an interview with Washingtonian. In this 2020 interview, he stated, “My past smoking habits resulted in the three stainless steel implants in my heart.” He noted this prompted him to be very strict with his children regarding avoiding smoking themselves. Additionally, he mentioned that he actively engaged in sports with them to model a healthier lifestyle.
Sadly, in the same interview, Roberts indicated that COVID-19 restrictions had impacted his ability to maintain his fitness routine. He remarked, “Sitting is the new smoking,” and while he tried to stay active at home, he felt it wasn’t sufficient. Although it remains uncertain if this contributed to his need for a pacemaker in early 2022, it is clear that Roberts is determined to manage his health in any way possible. We wish him continued good health in the future!
