Brazen Attack in Zamfara: Over 50 Women and Girls Seized by Armed Assailants

In a concerning incident early Sunday morning, around 1:30 am, attackers armed with advanced weapons targeted a community in a brutal and organized strike.

A group of suspected bandits has kidnapped over 50 women and girls from Kakin Dawa, a village located in the Gidan Goga district of Maradun Local Government Area in Zamfara State.

Reports indicate that the assault began around 1:30 am when the attackers methodically moved from one home to another.

A local resident shared his experience with Daily Post, stating, “As soon as the armed bandits arrived, everyone fled; we later learned that more than 50 of our women were taken.”

He urged both the federal and Zamfara State governments to promptly send additional military and security personnel to the region to address the ongoing threat from these bandits.

The situation in Zamfara State has been dire, with communities continually experiencing attacks, kidnappings, and forcing residents to flee their homes.

In a related note, there have been recent explosions in the Dansadau District of Maru Local Government Area, marking the third such occurrence in just one week. Two explosive devices detonated at different locations on Friday, specifically along the Dansadau-Malamawa road and the Malele road.
