Adenike Obaoye, a Nigerian mother living in Germany, alleges that her two sons, Noah and David, have been taken into custody by German authorities.
In a TikTok video shared on Monday, she claimed that a court in Germany denied her request to have her non-German children released to her.
Her sons were born in August 2021 and July 2022, as she mentioned in her statements.
She expressed frustration, stating, “I have just left the Family Court in Berlin-Kreuzberg, where the female judge refused to allow my non-German children to travel to Nigeria as I requested.”
Obaoye clarified that her children hold Nigerian nationality and do not have German citizenship.
She added, “The court’s refusal reveals a desire to keep my non-German children in Germany, infringing upon their rights and mine as their mother.
“As a single mother with full custody, I feel like the German authorities want to assume control over my kids.”
Reports from PUNCH Diaspora Tales indicate that she believes the state is attempting to unlawfully take her children away from her.
“This injustice will not prevail. I will continue to fight back,” she stated.
Attempts to reach Obaoye for further explanation regarding the court’s decision were unsuccessful as she did not respond at the time of this report.
