The Nigerian music diva, Yemi Alade was awarded the best female at the 2015 MTV African Music Awards and currently has two albums under her belt: King of Queens (2014) and Mama Africa (2016).
As a fashion mistress, Yemi Alade never fails to walk around with show stopping hairstyles that steal the show and have all eyes on her. Her favourite style seems to be different variations of a mohawk and bantu knots but she is also one to experiment and try out new styles.

1. Mohawk with hair extensions.

The mohawk is a hairstyle is when the middle of the hair is the longest and their sides are either shaven or pinned down to draw even more attention to the middle.
This is one of Yemi’s go to styles and she is currently rocking it with a beautiful blonde weave in the middle.

2. Afro mohawk.

This is another variation of the mohawk which the weave used is more of the curly afro hair texture than straight weaves. She has rocked this hair on her Mama Africa album and also her music video, Ferrari.

3. Bantu knots.

Bantu knots are achieved by twisting the hair around itself after straight twists or braids. It’s more common to people with natural hair but anyone can rock it and Yemi loves this style a lot.
She has rocked it both with her natural hair and her with extensions.

4. Head wraps/head gear.

Head wraps and head gear are also seen as types of hair styles. Yemi doesn’t wrap her hair often but when she does, she still looks at beautiful as ever.

5. Braids/Twists.

Braids and twists with extensions are one of Nigeria’s most popular hair styles and Yemi has not shied away from it. It can be said to be her third best style and she sure has a lot of fun with the different colours.

6. The Bob.

This is a look we have seen a few times on Yemi. The bob hairstyle is achieved with a fringe and the rest of the hair on the same length. Yemi seems to love when the hair stops right at her jawline and the fringe is just above her eye brows.
