A woman’s body, yet to be identified, was found in a drainage on OGTV Road in Abeokuta, Ogun State, with significant mutilation to her private parts.
According to a report from Punch, residents stumbled upon the horrific scene on Tuesday, May 8, 2025, and promptly notified the police.
Details about how the body ended up there are unclear, but further investigation revealed the gruesome detail of her mutilation.
“A woman was discovered dead in a gutter along OGTV Road, Abeokuta. She likely fell victim to ritualistic murder, as her private parts were missing. The police have since transported her remains to the State Hospital Morgue in Ijaiye,” shared a local source.
Furthermore, a senior local security officer indicated that the deceased was believed to be a sex worker.
The officer mentioned that according to her acquaintances, she was picked up by a man from their regular meeting place in Oke-Ilewo the night before her body was found.
Sadly, her corpse bore multiple machete wounds on her neck and hands, and again, her private parts had been severed.
“The lady engaged in sex work. Her friends recounted that she was taken by a man from their spot in Iwe-Iroyin, Oke-Ilewo. The injuries from machetes on her neck and hands were evident, alongside the mutilation of her private areas,” the officer detailed.
