Ruger Exposes Harsh Truth: Friends Are Rare in Music

There Are No Genuine Friends In The Music Industry %E2%80%93 (via Primetweets)

Michael Adebayo Olayinka, better known as Ruger, a notable figure in Afrobeats, has remarked on the lack of true friendships within the Nigerian music scene.

He suggested that an artist may only truly count on one or two authentic friends in this environment.

In a recent appearance on The Stanley Agu Show, Ruger elaborated that many relationships in the music world are primarily transactional.

He mentioned, “If there’s one lesson I wish I’d learned sooner, it’s that real friendships are scarce in the [music] industry. You might be fortunate enough to have two loyal friends who genuinely support you, even in tough times. That’s the extent of it.

“It’s all about business. Feelings don’t matter. Understand that it’s strictly business. People are around you as long as you have something to give. Once you lose that value, many will drift away. Keep in mind, the maximum number of true friends you might find in this industry is just one or none.”
