Vincent Kompany can rest easy as Leroy Sane is set to play for Bayern Munich despite ongoing contract negotiations. The 29-year-old’s current deal expires on July 1, but he has chosen to join the team in the United States for the upcoming tournament.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Sane will join Bayern’s squad for the Club World Cup starting June 14.
The report indicates that the 29-year-old has yet to finalize his future, with Premier League teams and Turkish clubs in contention alongside a potential new deal from Bayern Munich.
Previously, Sane’s agency had suggested him to Tottenham Hotspur, and now their rivals Arsenal are also keen to acquire the German star. Recent interest from Turkish clubs like Galatasaray and Fenerbahce has also emerged as they look to attract him away from Germany.
Galatasaray is reportedly offering a lucrative €12 million yearly deal while awaiting Sane’s response. After missing out on Victor Osimhen, they are eager to strengthen their roster for the coming Champions League season.
Conversely, Bayern Munich has upped their salary offer to a total package of €15.5 million gross annually.
Where is Sane headed this summer?
For the time being, Sane’s focus will be on the Club World Cup as Bayern navigates negotiations to extend his tenure for the duration of the tournament despite his contract ending soon.

Regarding his next destination, Sane might consider returning to the Premier League. Reports from Germany via BILD indicate that his wife favors a move to London, making Arsenal a likely option.
The Gunners are actively seeking a winger and could potentially sign someone of Sane’s caliber on a free transfer, freeing up resources as they have been scouting players like Nico Williams, Morgan Rogers, Igor Paixao, and Rodrygo.
This deal could work well for Arsenal if they can meet Sane’s salary expectations. However, it remains to be seen where his final choice will lie.
