Netflix’s You Season 2 Adds Chris D’Elia in Recurring Role

Deadline is reporting that actor and stand-up comedian Chris D’Elia (Undateable) has joined the cast of Netflix’s You Season 2 in a recurring role.

D’Elia, best known for the comedy series Undateable with credits including The Good Doctor, Whitney, Glory Daze, Little Evil, Alone Together, and the upcoming Life in a Year, will play Henderson, a designer-hoodie, black Ray-Bans, expensive sneakers-wearing famous comedian with a “hard-life-lessons-man-of-the-people” thing working for him.

Marielle Scott (Lady Bird, The Friend, 30 Miles from Nowhere) has also joined the series in a recurring role as Lucy, an edgy-chic literary agent with a deadpan wit and a sense of humor about her own LA-ness. Her career-driven nature is balanced by her earthy partner Sunrise and their toddler.

You Season 2 stars returning cast members Penn Badgley and Ambyr Childers, with new cast including  Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting of Hill House), Robin Lord Taylor (Gotham), Adwin Brown (Heathers), James Scully (Heathers), and Jenna Ortega (Jane the Virgin).

In Season 1 of You, a brilliant male bookstore manager (Penn Badgley) who crosses paths with an aspiring female writer (Elizabeth Lail), pushes the limits of “love” to the test. A charming yet awkward crush becomes something even more sinister when the writer becomes the manager’s obsession. Using social media and the internet, he uses every tool at his disposal to become close to her, even going so far as to remove any obstacle — including people — that stands in his way of getting to her

Season 2 of the series will be loosely based on the second novel in the series, Hidden Bodies, which will follow Goldberg as he travels to Los Angeles and meets aspiring chef Love Quinn, who is uninterested in social media the way his previous love interest was.
