The network’s chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz revealed in the network’s scheduling call that it would be planning a two-hour event pairing the two together and though it wouldn’t happen in December as with previous Arrowverse crossovers, but that they do expect to have it ready for the first or second quarter of 2021.

We’re still working on it. It will be a smaller event than usual, we’re only planning a two-hour event,” Pedowitz said. “We are talking about doing Superman and Batwoman together. There’s a lot of characters coming from our other shows.

To this date there have been six annual Arrowverse crossovers, the most recent of which was Crisis on Infinite Earths, which received most positive reviews from critics across Supergirl, Batwoman, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow installments. The announcement of the next event comes on the heels of the network giving Superman & Lois a straight-to-series order.

The latest series focusing on the Man of Steel and his reporter love interest is being penned by Todd Helbing, who is also attached as executive producer alongside Arrowverse architect Greg Berlanti, Warner Bros. TV, Sarah Schecter and Geoff Johns via Berlanti Productions. The pilot was set to begin production during the regular season and resume production on its 13-episode season in the summer, but given world events production has been suspended on the series.
