Kate Winslet is an Oscar-winning actress with countless films under her belt, yet she can’t seem to escape one particular scene.
It’s hard to forget how timeless the then-21-year-old actress looked when she posed with the Heart of the Ocean necklace and nothing else in 1997’s “Titanic.”
For Winslet, her fans won’t let her forget it. In fact, nearly 17 years after that celebrated scene appeared on the big screen, her devotees are still asking her to autograph photos from it.
“I don’t sign that (picture),” she told Yahoo! “It feels very uncomfortable. Why would you do that? People ask me to sign that (picture) a lot.”
The snapshot of the drawing of her that Leonardo DiCaprio’s character sketched has been presented to her time and time again.
“I didn’t mean for it to be a photograph that I would end up seeing still 17 years later,” the now-38-year-old star said.
Nowadays, Winslet is a married mother of three who has the 2008 Best Actress Oscar for “The Reader” and currently stars in the blockbuster hit “Divergent.”
At a recent premiere for the film starring Shailene Woodley and Theo James, a fan of Winslet reached out holding the black-and-white sketch.
“It’s still haunting me,” she confessed to Yahoo! “It’s quite funny, really.”
