Carrie Fisher reportedly had low-key affairs with David Bowie and Freddie Mercury when she was just 17, a new biography has claimed.
According to film historians Darwin Porter and Danforth Prince, Bowie and Mercury cheated on their partners to date the Star Wars icon in 1973.
At the time, the 17-year-old actress was training at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
She was introduced to the pair after she attended a party with her mother Debbie Reynolds – who had been invited by Mick Jagger.
Bowie had already debuted his Ziggy Stardust persona, and Fisher found herself drawn to someone who “had made the world a better place for rebels, oddballs, and misfits like me”.
The revelations were first disclosed to Porter, after he interviewed actress Joan Hackett in 1983.
Fisher told close friend Hackett that Bowie “seemed to survive for days on brain-sizzling cocaine, drinking only milk for nourishment”.

She added: ‘Some nights were torture for him as he sank into a cocaine pit of hell… He could be ruthless, mean, jealous. At other times, he conquered his demons and could be sweet and tender, wanting and needing love.”
She also recalled that Bowie told her: “I’m adored by millions of fans, but I feel at times like I’m all by myself out there on the edge of a cliff that is slowly giving way.”
Describing her affair with Mercury, the book states: “In addition to an endless parade of boys and young men on the side, Mercury occasionally seduced a young woman and had a long-time relationship with Mary Austin… Carrie said she didn’t want to interfere with his ongoing love affair, but he dismissed her concerns.”
The biography, titled titled ‘Carrie Fisher & Debbie Reynolds’, will be published in the UK next month.
Fisher died in December 2016 – with some of Holllywood’s biggest names paying tribute to her talents.
Fisher’s fellow Star Wars cast member Mark Hamill led the numerous tributes, tweeting that he was “devastated” by the news.
Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew posted a touching tribute, writing: “There are no words for this loss. Carrie was the brightest light in every room she entered. I will miss her dearly.” Anthony Daniels, who played C-3PO, said “I thought I had got what I wanted under the tree. I didn’t,” while Billy Dee Williams (who played Lando Calrissian) wrote: “The force is dark today.”
Her last big screen performance came as General Leia Organa in 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
