Veronica Mars is taking a much-deserved breather.
According to series creator Rob Thomas, there have been no further discussions with Hulu about bringing Kristen Bell‘s titular (and recently widowed) sleuth back for a fifth season. That said, Thomas is not ruling out the possibility of more Veronica Mars down the line.
A Hulu spokesperson declined to comment for this story, but a source at the streamer confirms that there are no current plans to order another season. (All four seasons of Veronica Mars are currently available to stream on Hulu.)
Veronica Mars‘ eight-episode fourth season dropped in July and, while it earned mostly positive reviews from critics, it polarized fans. A season-finale twist involving the death of Jason Dohring’s beloved Logan proved particularly (and not surprisingly) incendiary.
Thomas addressed the backlash in late July, telling TVLine that “nothing has happened that I didn’t imagine was going to happen.” That said, the EP maintained that he had no regrets about whacking Veronica’s soul mate. “I know what the show needs to be moving forward,” he stressed. “There are not many shows about kickass detectives and their boyfriend at home. It was tough getting Logan wrapped into the story this season… There’s a reason shows end when the couple gets together. I’m not going to start doing The Thin Man. It’s not going to be Veronica and Logan solving mysteries, so what is Logan doing in the show?”
If and when a fifth season of Veronica Mars does materialize, Thomas already has a “couple ideas in my head, one of which is very Agatha Christie-[esque],” he previously told TVLine. “It won’t be this exactly, but some version of Murder in a Manor House. Something that is so explicitly detective-y… I want to really lean into that we are a detective show… I feel like Season 4 was the bridge season, to take us from half soap opera/half mystery show to full detective/mystery show.”
#noseason5withoutlogan
It would’ve never have been the Thin Man, this could’ve been the FIRST show about a kickass lady detective with a boyfriend at home
True that… if someone wants to see great noir, there are plenty of shows out there that do contemporary noir rather well… For example Bosch… Nobody is turning up for VM to see noir as much as RT may wish them to…
Speak for yourself.
Considering S4 wasn’t even noir, clearly you’re not showing up for it either.
Yes people showed up to see a noir. If you want to see a show about a girl with her boyfriend watch a teen soap. VM was always about the gut punch, the emotionally devastating moments, and the relationship between daughter and father. Shippers are annoying and childish.
To be fair it was never said out loud he died nor was there any body / funeral / headstone footage so they can kinda take it back for S5 and just end the season finale with the revelation that her narration of the episode was actually her telling a comatose Logan about the case in question, or a Logan who is in a physio rehab centre trying to learn to walk again. Police just pulled up behind him before the explosion, maybe they figured it out, too and they were there to alert him just in time for him to get out of the car and only get injured, not killed.
I’m only putting this out there because while I do respect the creative decision they made and actually thought it was a very effective twist, if S5 and the return of fans are dependent on Logan’s return then so be it. He is a great character so it’s not like his return would be a drag. I just wish fans could be more respectful of the creators right to tell the story they envisioned not the fan fiction the fans would approve of.
Very well said.
Agreed. Would love to see Logan return. Working through the characters obvious issues would be great on-screen (IMO).
There are so many ways to make Logan NOT dead. And plenty of successful couples shows. Bones, Castle, CSI, etc. So don’t even go there. Conflict? She feels guilty. Logan does get injuried in some way. Maybe some rehad? Fans can make or break a show. Castle ENDED when fans found they were going end Castle and Beckett…
There are plenty of ways that they could make Logan’s character come back. he was injured and he’s in rehab and she feels guilty for not been able to save him from what happened. There’s your conflict. and there are plenty of couple detectives that were successful shows such as castle, and Bones. So don’t say that that’s your reasoning because that’s a cop out. and keep this in mind when the fans of Castle found out that they weren’t going to keep Beckett and Castle back together the backlash was so bad that they just had to cancel the show instead of bringing it back for another season. And to sit there and say that a woman can’t be strong and independent and have not only a successful career but a successful love life and a successful marriage is a slap in the face of every woman in the world.!! How dare you!
I like the way you think. I do very much respect the Creator’s right to be at the helm. But in this case, I believe the Season 4 finale was like the Titanic colliding with that iceberg. Fridging me, I’m afraid, has killed the whole series. The best way to revive it is to revive me, which, thanks to the points made above, IS possible. Very much hoping for a Season 5 with Logan fully alive. It would be epic.
Logan and Veronica doing The Thin Man thing would have been great, actually. What does Thomas know?
I sure do agree. Veronica and I would make quite a team.
YES! Agreed👍 They missed the mark on this one.
I agree Sheila. Rob Thomas admitted he was taking a gamble and that my getting blown up might have been a “bad bet.” Golly, I sure do think it was. But he’s only human, and we all make mistakes. One of the things I admire most is when people admit their mistakes, change course, and move on. With the greatest of respect for my creator, I think he needs to do just that. This could be an easy fix if he decides to fix it. I hope he doesn’t let the whole series end on this horribly depressing note. Would love to return alive in a Season 5. It would be epic.
What a shame if we don’t get any more, I throughly enjoyed season 4 and would have liked to have gotten at least one more season to see what Rob would have done with it. People are celebrating not getting more when Logan is dead, but I don’t see that it’s any better to end the series on such a sad note with Logan dead and Veronica grieving? A possible season 5 could well have brought more closure with flashbacks to Logan, his funeral etc, and instead the series is going to end on such a downer if season 4 really is it
There is no satisfaction for flashbacks, or a funeral saying or anything of the nature. Fans spot for the underdog and the underdog in this situation is not Veronica it’s Logan and to have everything he has fought for literally blown up is a slap in our face. The fans fought for the series Little league with money and campaigns and it’s not necessarily that the Creator knows what it takes to make this so successful because if the fans don’t want to watch it then I was like he doesn’t know what’s successful. Sometimes the fans know best and what does it say about a writer if they don’t have the ability to be creative enough to make a series work to where the two main characters are together, work together, have their differences, like in real life. Just how creative is the creator of water if that the struggle? Show us what you’re really made of. Don’t take the easy way out.
I don’t think anyone is celebrating anything, Naomi. The whole thing is a big bummer. Blowing me up was a death blow to the whole show. The only glimmer of hope is the possibility of my Creator reviving me and bringing me back alive (no ghosts, no visions) in Season 5. Only time will tell what happens to Veronica Mars. But I’m really hoping it can be saved.
I know, the Season 4 ending is such a Debbie downer. But I don’t think any Marshmallows want to see my funeral, Naomi. They would far prefer to see me alive in a Season 5. As many have pointed out, I was in Naval intelligence and I could have been “disappeared” for a top-secret longterm mission. If I were to return to Veronica alive, although I sincerely hope she will welcome me with open arms, I imagine it might be complicated. I hope to get a chance to see how things turn out!
I agree, Naomi. It is a terrible shame and a rotten way to end the whole series. I am praying to my Creator to fix it by reviving me in Season 5. I hope he can hear me and is willing to change course.
Totally agree. Except in this case it’s a kickass detective with a husband often away on top-secret special ops missions, like the one he’s on now!
Yes! It could still be the FIRST show about a kickass woman detective with a husband who is often away on top-secret military missions, like the one he is on now!
I like your handle, Jerome! I agree completely. No Season 5 without me. I also agree that Veronica Mars could have been the first show about a kickass lady detective with a HUSBAND often away on secret special ops mission, like the one that I’m on now. Hope to return soon for a Season 5 with Logan Alive. Toodles for now, Logan
I am doing the same with Season 4 of VM that I did with last season of Scrubs. Act like it never happened
Agreed. I am ignoring it too, and as far as another season? Not a big deal. I won’t/wouldn’t be watching another season anyway.
Same. I was done. The movie was my V. Mars ending. I wasn’t coming back for more of that after they killed Logan.
Me too. I never even watched past episode three when I found out that Logan had been killed. Rob Thomas definitely dropped the ball in a big way on this one
You’re not wrong, Julie. I sure hope he can and will pick that ball back up and create a Season 5 with Logan alive. I can’t stand the ending of Season 4. It was an absolute bomb.
Season 4 was fantastic. It’s a pity we probably won’t get any more Veronica Mars because obnoxious little fan girls are angry Logan will no longer be moistening their panties.
Thaaaaaaaaaank you. Some of those past comments after season4 aired were embarrassing.
Thank you. He’s dead get over it
The Burnt Marshmallows have won. What a shame. I’m devastated. (But certainly not over Logan.)
I don’t think there’s a Marshmallow out there who thinks he or she won. It’s looking like more of a lose-lose situation. Which, of course, is quite the bummer for me. What I’d like more than anything is to get out of this place I’m in and be with V. I’m holding onto hope that LoVe conquers all that I’ll be with V again someday.
Correction: “he or she or they won.” (sorry ’bout that)
I think it’s more about trust in Rob Thomas. He couldn’t think of a way to continue the series without killing him off? He had to know alienating fans would decrease the likelihood of renewal.
It reminds me of the ending of How I Met Your Mother. I was far less likely to watch the HIMYFather sequel(if it had happened) after watching the end of HIMYM.
The thing about How I Met Your Mother is that that ending was planned since it began. They built the narrative to end it as that and planned it with many hints and foreshadowing along the way. People just didn’t want to accept it. It was actually a beautiful ending if you actually watched the show and understood the narrative. With Veronica Mars, season 4 ending was just another plot that seemed to have been created without much forethought, except to continue the series without characters to burden the new direction Rob Thomas waved to do.
Oh please. Don’t give me that ‘If you didn’t like the How I Met Your Mother end, you’re not as enlightened as me’ crap. Everyone understood the precious narrative. It would have worked fine if it had ended around season 5. But instead they dragged the show out for 8 years, beating us viewers over the head with the fact that Robin and Ted should not be a couple, spending an entire season on a wedding that would end in divorce. The show runners did it to themselves.
I have to vehemently disagree and argue to the complete opposite. The ending to How I Met Your Mother was utterly dissatisfying after the grind of the show for so many years. The constant “will they/won’t they” with Robin and Ted proved they weren’t a good couple together after so many failed attempts. We waited so long to meet the mother, only to get a season-long wedding (that fast forwards to a divorce) where we shoehorn the mother in as many times as possible and then kill her off right away for yet another Robin/Ted attempt that is no better off than any of the previous ones. That ending might have worked for an earlier season, but no matter how “planned from the beginning” it was, they milked it for far too many seasons to serve up such a poorly orchestrated closer.
To the contrary, Veronica Mars plots, especially if you read the couple of books as well, mostly continue to deploy Logan out to some military situation to get him out of the way, and this was pretty obviously going to be the conclusion to that (though I expected it in season 5, not season 4). Logan was only ever interesting when he was in trouble, which to be fair, was much of the original show and movie. His arc was over.
I completely disagree about when Logan was interesting. I loved the way his character Gru and everything he overcame. He embodied the character and the way he matured and the way he loved and cared. There were only a leaps and bounds and gross and so much more they could have done and with him being deployed all the time and with him being in the forces there are so many avenues she could have went abroad and they could have traveled so they’re so much they could have done with the storyline and with his training they could have Incorporated every bit of that into the series but they took the easy cheap way out and probably ended up blowing their chances of ever getting a renewal.
You make an excellent point that alienating fans would decrease the likelihood of renewal. I’m a bit miffed myself. I hope that he will be able to listen to people who truly know and care about Veronica Mars. There are other ways of making the show noir than blowing me up on our wedding day.
i didn’t hate season 4 because logan died. was it a mistake? yes, but he’s not my favorite so i could do with either.
i hated it because veronica as a character was awful. because apparently every bit of growth she had during the first 3 seasons, and then the movie, wasn’t “organic enough”, so instead she had to become bitter and spiteful.
i hated it because somehow, rob thomas thought we wouldn’t want to see the original characters back in full capacity. instead, he gave them a few lines here and there, and then shoved a dozen new characters down our throats that really didn’t need to be there.
i hated it because everything that made the show great the first 3 seasons, was absent from every episode this time around.
the revival was a giant let down, and i don’t need another season filled with disappointment.
Rob Thomas should realize we have NO desire for Veronica Mars without Logan, so he can move on! He absolutely ruined one of the best shows on tv!
Oh, I absolutely have a desire for more Veronica Mars. If you were only watching the show for Logan or a relationship, you weren’t really a fan of the show in the first place. .
What was I supposed to watch then? The relationship between Veronica and Keith? Well, maybe he will kill Keith next season if granted… next would be Wallace, and the next after might be Casablancas, and everybody else but Veronica. If you’re willing to watch Veronica solving cases alone, then wow you’re the most authentic Veronica Mars fan…. congrats.
Oh shut up! That’s BS. Part of Veronica was her relationship with Logan. Don’t be throwing those of us that loved LoVe under the bus. ‘Not real fans’ pshh, please
Bite me. I’ll say whatever I want to say and there’s very little you can do about it.
If you only watched the show for Veronica and Logan, you weren’t a real fan of the show. You just wanted to watch two attractive people get it on. Period.
I have to agree. The only way to save it is to save me. I need to be revived for the show to survive. I’m asking my Creator to bring me back alive for a Season 5. It would be epic.
Sorry–definitely NOT agreeing with Michelangelo. I”ve actually gotten letters from fans all ages and all sexes and sexual preferences who admired our relationship on a deeper level. Many are moved by the evolution of LoVe between us, and many who are devastated by how it has been snuffed out.
Left as is, I have to agree that my Creator ruined one of the best shows on TV.
But the show CAN be save. If he brings me back fully alive for a Season 5, the series can be redeemed.
It would be sensational.
It would be amazing.
It would be epic.
I liked Logan well enough, but the thing that upset me the most about his death is how stupid it was (and how stupid Veronica and Keith had to be for it to happen). Aside from that, I wasn’t a big fan of Veronica this season – she was prickly, but sans the marshmallow side of her that always made me root for her. I just didn’t want to watch any more of that.
This is my thoughts too. While I was sad that Logan died and thought it was a mistake (and a badly done one at that – so many plot holes), I wasn’t happy with season 4 long before it happened. Veronica was so bitter and resentful. She had no time for any of her friends (since when did Logan have to convince her to spend time with her best friend???) and it was generally not pleasant to watch. I don’t want to see characters regressing for no real reason. She was not the same character I loved and admired.
Agree with everything but Logan…I loved his character. Rob Thomas let us all down thinking that evidently, woman can’t be interesting as well as happy.
I agree, Julie. Rob did let us down. I really really hope he will pick us back up.
Wow, you are a forkin’ piece of work and rude.
I actually really liked season 4, but was still very angry about how they killed Logan. I get killing off the character and I see the reasons behind it for future storytelling. But, I thought that it was poorly written. You can’t tell me that neither Veronica nor her father would have thought to get the backpack out of the car and turn it over to police. I understand that Logan needed to die for the purpose of advancing the story. But, I don’t like the way it was done. And, I’m not even necessarily referring to it happening right after they finally got married. But, couldn’t he have died in a more valiant way then a bomb in a backpack that both Veronica and Keith would have certainly removed from the car in any other episode? Couldn’t he have died while on a military mission? Couldn’t he have died perhaps saving Veronica? Heck, I would have even been happy if Veronica had been the one walking out to move the car when Logan realized what was about to happen and perhaps he somehow saved her from the blast but died in the process. I’m not necessarily looking forward to more episodes. That last several minutes was just poorly written. A lot of time was spent on Logan’s character throughout the series. He started out appearing to be just a spoiled rich kid and he had an incredible amount of character growth. He deserved to go out in a better way than that.
Bravo on your unoriginal, sexist comment.
Haha. Cry some more! Your precious show is never coming back. Maybe you can rewatch that awful season 4 over and over again.
Ah here’s an incel/troll now.
You are disgusting, Jj. Perhaps we care about the character of Logan since we’ve grown with him. Shame on you for making it all about attraction.
You are rude and condescending. And I am certainly no teenybopper worrying about the moistness of my panties. There are plenty of other ways RT could have gone with the show without gutting the show that the majority of us loved. If he wanted a different type of show, why didn’t he just write a new one instead of ruining the existing one that had been so successful. The fans paid for the movie to see what they wanted to see. Without the fans actions and requests, there would have probably never been a season four.
I thoroughly enjoyed season 4. I was really hoping for a season 5 so this makes me sad. The whole Logan thing didn’t really bother me as the show is old and things needed to change. Hopefully something in the future can be done.
Catch is, things didn’t change. Season after season Vroni gets a new trauma to deal with “to grow stronger from it”, she still mistrusts anyone but her dad, even long-time allies like Weevil, she can’t hold on to a stable relationship.. She’s caught on a carousel of misery, never be able to jump off.
Hey, you figured out what noir is! Everybody is always miserable. Other than crime, that’s the main point of the genre.
Was Veronica Mars actually ever noir though? I know that’s what Rob Thomas wanted it to be, but even he admits that he is losing aspects of the show to make it noir. I think many fans find the aspects he finds “soapy” to actually be things that ground the show and adds to its quality.
Also, I’m not sure how interesting a true noir show would be to a modern audience. The trend either seems to be towards serialized character growth/change or anthology seasons that follow different protagonists/stories.
I think that it was 100% noir from the word go. It may not be a gritty, pulp noir like Sin City but, it still meets the criteria to fall into the genre. All noir is is a story based around crime where everything falls into a gray area and nothing ends on a happy note. That defines this show entirely. There is not a single story in this show that ever ends happily so, I don’t get why anybody ever thought that her and Logan would. The “soapy” parts of the show are fine. But, they were never what the show was about. They were small parts of the show that a certain segment of the overall fan base focused on while ignoring the part of the show that took up 80% of every episode, the investigation of crimes.
Outside of the 40’s, noir has always been a niche genre. So, it would never be a big hit with a modern audience because it was only popular for a very small period of time. But, Veronica Mars was never a hit either. It is a niche show with a small, but very vocal and loyal, fan base. I’m not shocked that there isn’t a clamoring from Hulu to make more right now. The viewing numbers were probably okay at best. Somebody who posted a little lower probably said it best, it is a niche show with unrealistic expectations put on it.
I hate to say I told you so, but… Here’s what gets me. Part of the quote from RT: “It won’t be this exactly, but some version of Murder in a Manor House. Something that is so explicitly detective-y… I want to really lean into that we are a detective show… I feel like Season 4 was the bridge season, to take us from half soap opera/half mystery show to full detective/mystery show.”
For four seasons, all those loyal fans who helped Kickstart the movie, cried tears over the cancellation, cried tears again when the news came out about the new season… We watched and liked it because it WASN’T just another full detective/mystery show. The show was about the relationships: V/Dad, V/friends, V/Logan, V/town. Frankly, the mysteries were kind of second place in terms of what kept so many of us watching. Yes, they were integral to the show, especially season 1, but there are plenty of detective shows out there for those who wanted just that without the heart of what made “Veronica Mars” what it was. I think RT lost track of that. :(
Agreed!! No surprise that there won’t be a season 5, season 4 seemed to be a big FU from RT to the Marshmellow faithful – he apparently didn’t understand *why* we were so passionate about the show – I watch all kinds of shows, but the key for me is that it has to have heart – and his new version of Veronica is lacking one
They didn’t say that there wouldn’t be a season 5. All that was said was that there are no current plans. From anybody. Hulu. Thomas. Bell. None of them have plans right now to make another season.
That is Hollywood for it’s not happening. Thomas and Bell already said they were holding their availability for S5 when the show launched. That Hulu had asked them to and that they would know in about a month if another season was a go. Now it’s been 4 months and multiple articles/ sources, including Rico Colantoni’s PR firm have confirmed there have be ZERO talks about moving forward and that it’s not happening. Time to say good riddance.
Nothing is for sure as yet, last I head Kristen say was,
“I think currently I’m in the mood to take a short break. I’ve been working a lot the last couple of years. I don’t want that to ever be at the expense of my family…I’m going to take a minute to clear my head and get a break”
People are celebrating prematurely imo, it’s not great news no, but there’s still nothing stopping Rob and Kristen from putting another season together once Kristen has taken some time off. She’s been very clear about not wanting to jump right into another show or movie where she’s first on the call sheet, so this isn’t surprising that they aren’t having talks right now, but there’s nothing to say that it’s cancelled either when Hulu didn’t even want to go on the record as saying that
But RT spent a lot of space in interviews post season 4 talking about the direction he would be taking the show, so yes he HAD plans, but Hulu and the mahority of fans apparently didn’t like them.
He understands completely, he just doesn’t care because its not what he wants.
Agreed. Thomas took a big risk, and he lost. He’s also proven TWICE that it’s possible for a comeback, but studios are watching and paying attention. There has been so much negative backlash he’ll be lucky to find a home for a season 5. He did his fans dirty and they are not likely to forget.
Exactly
Season 4 was bad because it was (deliberately so) a detective show and not the Veronica Mars we were used to, for many, many reasons. I didn’t really care about Logan but killing him off so that they could transform the show into something even less “VeronicaMars-y” was an awful idea. I would still probably watch a 5th season down the line but I’m not hoping for it to happen as I had for season 4.
Ruined the whole show and it’s never coming back, thanks for nothing Rob! I can’t even watch the early seasons anymore.
Had it performed well, it would have gotten another season. It’s a niche show and that head of Hulu put unrealistic expectation on it.
A possible season 5 could well have brought more closure with flashbacks to Logan, his funeral etc, and instead the series is going to end on such a downer if season 4 really is it
Well… color me DISAPPOINTED! I was so happy to see Veronica Mars back in the saddle! I was a backer on the Veronica Mars movie and just want MORE Veronica Mars!
Already waiting for season 5…i want to know what will happen with Veronica, if the tragic turn of the events – mainly Logan’s death – will finally get her to evolve to be more than that one angry Veronica revolving around the fear of losing someone thus letting this drive her life.
I’ll admit that I was upset over the choice of killing Logan off, but I also had other problems with the season as a whole. I would’ve been indifferent about a possible fifth season, as I simply wouldn’t have watched it
This.
Same. I was upset about Logan getting killed. But it was more than that. Veronica was just so bitter and angry, or something. I realize characters are supposed to grow, but I felt she was growing the wrong way. The original love for V. Mars is her interaction with the ones she cares about, how much she cares. Bell just chewed up the scenes and spit them out. My favorite part in the whole season was Weevil leaving her and that look she gave him,…like, there it is if only for a moment.
Since Hulu is now a Disney-controlled entity, I’m not surprised. Maybe the new HBO Max will pick it up since VM is a Warner Bros. show.
I had no problem with them killing off Logan (I don’t think he’s added much to the show for a WHILE tbh). My problem with the season was that it wasn’t very good. The mystery was overly convoluted and uninteresting and the actors all seemed to be kind of sleepwalking through the season. Truthfully, as much as I love the show, it hasn’t truly been great since season 2 and all the stop-start revivals only seem to hammer home the point that they don’t have a lot of creative juice left in the tank.
I hope we do get a season 5 sooner than later and if not, then a second movie to wrap the series up. Having the season 4 finale as the series finale would be a downer to end the show on.
One thing is for sure… Veronica Mars fans won’t be going clamouring ‘en masse’ for a fifth season after the departure from canon VM the fourth one was (beyond the obvious highly polarasing, and not particularly interesting, ending). Too bad as it was really great to see the fans come together to make the movie possible, and to a large extent the fourth season…
That sucks. I was hoping for a 5th season to experience what veronica mars would be like without that rat logan. Oh well… maybe in the future
I had more problems with how season 4 was written in general than I did with the Logan twist. Veronica wasn’t acting like herself, and I really didn’t like this new version. The world was not as well fleshed out as it was before. Supporting characters which balanced out Veronica before were treated as though they didn’t matter to the series anymore. The mystery was poorly constructed and predictable.
And yeah, killing Logan was stupid, because it made Veronica stupid for leaving key evidence in the backseat of her own car.
Veronica Mars ended with the movie (and books) for me. I have no interest in seeing more of the Hulu series.
Veronica Mars never had a season 4.. The real Veronica Mars ended with the fan funded movie and Rob should have honored all of us who paid money to make that happen. What he did was basically piss off 1000s of fans and make people never want to watch anything he makes again because we are all afraid he might decide to do the same thing again. (Also he clearly mentioned in previous interviews he planned on having more seasons and that’s why he killed off Logan because Veronica couldn’t have a husband at home waiting for her and he wanted future seasons to be more noir etc, but clearly Hulu doesn’t want anything to do with that train wreck so thanks Hulu.)
So thankful Hulu decided not to move forward!! They can now use that money and come up with new content!! Rob Thomas doesn’t need to be rewarded for using Veronica Mars to get people to watch! If he wanted a completely different show then he should have done that. What they did was selfish and self absorbed and should not be rewarded.
Very happy to hear that Hulu isn’t going there. What Rob Thomas and company did was nothing more than a con and should not be rewarded. If you wanted a different show tgen make a different show. I seriously cannot imagine many people would have watched.
I was satisfied with the ending they gave us
My husband and I loved S4, it felt a bit more mature, like the show grew up with us. The ending was sad, but I was never the biggest Logan/Veronica fan, and I see why the writer killed him off. Hoping for a S5 down the line!
I didn’t like this season at all. You know that point when the actors realize that they have another season and their characters seem less like the characters that you loved watching but more like the actors phoning the part in. That’s what this season was for me and the mystery just wasn’t that good – leaving the bomb in the back of her car…..please. The VM of old would never have been that careless. The clincher was the lack of the characters that made the show what it was over the years and then killing off Logan. This just wasn’t the show that I had grown to love. I would rather RT would let it go now and just create a new show.
:-)
“ I’m not going to start doing The Thin Man.”
Well of course not. You could never attain to such greatness, and nobody expected you to.
I know what the show needs to be moving forward,” he stressed. ”
Clearly you did not know what the show needed to move forward. Stopped it dead in its tracks, you did.
I have to say, it also doesn’t speak well of Kristen Bell that she supported blowing up Logan. It tells you that she thinks she was the whole show.
Natalie, I gotta admit that I was pretty darn disappointed in Kristen Bell myself. I mean, I’ve always loved her. (I can’t help it ’cause she looks exactly like Veronica.) But it seriously bummed me out to see her so perky and confident that fridging me was the best way for Veronica Mars to move forward. I don’t think she realizes how integral I am to Veronica’s story, and how utterly tragic and damaging it is to rip me away from her like that on our wedding day.
I think Kristen should spend some one -on-one time with Veronica and ask her what’s best for her. I feel like I know Veronica better than Kirsten does these days. Veronica would never ever make light of my death and would never tell good people what they need (“We’re giving fans not what they want but what they need.”) That is more arrogant and assuming than Veronica could ever be at her worst. If possible, I’d like to have a chat with Kirsten with her about what is best for Veronica Mars as a whole. In order to thrive, the show needs me revived for a Season 5. I hope Kirsten will take this into consideration and help make that happen.
