Netflix has apparently had enough of Insatiable, cancelling the Debby Ryan-led comedy after two seasons, TVLine has confirmed.
Insatiable, which dropped its second — and now final — season in October 2019, starred Ryan as Patty Bladell, a newly thin high school student who seeks revenge on her former bullies by becoming a pageant queen.
The dark comedy also starred Dallas Roberts (The Good Wife) as Bob Armstrong Jr., Christopher Gorham (Covert Affairs) as Bob Barnard, Sarah Colonna (Shameless) as Angie Bladell, Erinn Westbrook (Awkward) as Magnolia Barnard, Kimmy Shields (Big Little Lies) as Nonnie Thompson, Michael Provost (All Rise) as Brick Armstrong, Irene Choi (Community) as Dixie Sinclair, Arden Myrin (Mad TV) as Regina Sinclair and Alyssa Milano (Charmed) as Coralee Huggins-Armstrong.
Despite Insatiable‘s buzzy first season — fueled largely by an online backlash against the show for appearing fatphobic — its second batch of episodes came and went with nary a peep. So it wasn’t a huge surprise when Milano shared the news of the show’s cancellation with her 3.6 million Twitter followers earlier this month:
We will not be coming back, sadly.

TVLine’s Streaming TV Renewal Scorecard has been updated to reflect Insatiable‘s cancellation. Are you disappointed by the show’s abrupt ending? Drop a comment with your thoughts below.
BOO!
I didn’t watch because of the fat-shaming vibe the original trailer had. From what I’ve read, that wasn’t really an accurate depiction of the show, but my guess is that they never really overcame that initial backlash.
That’s unfortunate that you allow yourself to be swayed by public opinion without experiencing something yourself.
Or I watched the trailer for myself and found it to be insulting and disrespectful. It’s not my fault Netflix produced a first look that turned me away from the show. Being swayed by popular opinion has nothing to do with it.
if you want to not believe that fat shaming or bullying exists then it’s a good job you didn’t watch. The show highlighted that being “skinny” doesn’t automatically equal happiness. The lead character isn’t suddenly happy because she lost weight. You took something purely at face value without even watching it. How vapid of you.
I also didn’t watch it because it *is* fat shamey. And clearly enough of us didn’t watch it so all the apologists can suck it :P
The second installment was a bit of a damp squib in comparison to an incredible first.
They should have left it as a stand-alone single season, it tarnished a great comedy.
No, I won’t miss it. Honestly, I couldn’t make it past the third episode of season 1, having nothing to do with fat shaming. Instead, I found it kind of boring, it thought it was funnier than it was, and everyone was positively hateful on the show.
No! It was my guilty pleasure!
CW, please save it! Second season was so much better than third. And while Dallas was mvp of first season, Debby knocked it out of the park in second. I’m done with Netflix. I was laughing at my friends cancelling it but I’m gonna do the same.
Broadcast networks can’t save Netflix shows for 2 years. Nobody involved in this show is going to want to wait that long.
That was only true for the Marvel shows. Netflix cancelled One Day at a Time last year and it is returning this March on PopTV.
oh no I was hoping to get a third final season. such a fun guilty pleasure completely misunderstood by people before they even saw it. that whole faux outrage controversy was so ridiculous.
Agree.
BRING IT BACK. At least give a good ending instead of cancelling shows!!
But we have Lucifer extended and a new season of Stranger Things to come .. both great👍!!!
This show was a mess and the definition of trash television(yes I know it’s a streaming service but you get the idea). All that being said I couldn’t help but keep watching. Theres something painfully beautiful about a trainwreck like this show.
And I just cancelled my Netflix account.
It was funny and enjoyable….so of course they axe it.
Nooo! Really enjoyed the first season although season two went far too dark for me and aspired to be Dexter, which I could never watch. I understand the series creator was an EP on that show. I’m disappointed Insatiable won’t get to wrap things up with a final season.
But still no news on “Atypical”?
The first season was wonderful however this season was a bit of a creative mess sorry to see it go had such great potential
I’m sad. One of the smartest, funniest, most outrageous shows out there. We barely get any good satire anymore. People just didn’t get it. However, I’m not too sad, because the second season wrapped up very nicely.
Agreed. This show was completely misunderstood. It was actually well written and directed. Satire based on uncomfortable topics and situations. It brought a spot light to toxic behavior traits and disorders that millions of Americans can relate to. But people don’t want to face the ugly truth about themselves, and they certainly can’t laugh at themselves because then we’d have to admit the darkest parts of ourselves outloud.
What the what?!? This sucks! Netflix is really annoying me with all these cancellations. Why start a show if it’s always canceled.
Kinda expected this to follow the usual 3-and-done pattern after it got second season last year.
I enjoyed watching Insatiable and I’m sad to see it leave. I do wish that the people that make these cancellation decisions would give enough notice to the shows writers that, if they show is going to be canceled, the writers can at least tie up loose ends and offer an adequate final episode.
Sorry for the few typos. I should have proofread.
It was very funny at the beginning but I think they went too far in the 2nd season with all the killing. I hope Dallas Roberts lands somewhere soon.
I loved the first season. It was something fresh and different from the rest, a little crazy but the humor and the message was enough to make it a good show. But apparently they decided to f**k up season 2. It was so bad!!. Like crazy in the bad way. It become some kind of dexter in a show that was supposedly about self loving. So no surprise it was camcelled
i watched the first season but haven’t seen the second yet. I have no desire to. Not surprised it got cancelled. I’m more surprised it even got a second season.
I’m not shocked. The second season was pretty lame. I just wish they would do a one off to wrap it all up.
I loved that show
So why leave it to when patty gose psycho and leaves bob in jail what dose she do when dose corlee move btw i think i spelled coarlee wrong maney twice . Anyway wilk regiana frame patty or will patty kill her even like 2 more episodes for seoson two would be fine .
Noooo it cant end, we need to see more and what happens….the characters were all great, such a different show, funny, great acting and little twists! Very sad….please reconsider!!
