A commercial bus traveling from Abuja to Otukpo was ambushed by armed assailants around 8 PM. The attack resulted in the death of the driver and another individual.
On Sunday, May 4, in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, two individuals were reported dead, and four others were kidnapped following the assault on the bus along the Adoka Otukpo road.
The bus, coming from Abuja, had most passengers disembark at Adoka. It was then that the armed men attacked the remaining six individuals, leading to the fatalities and abductions.
Maxwell Ogiri, the Chairman of Otukpo Local Government, confirmed the incident, stating:
“The vehicle was on its way from Abuja to Otukpo, and while many passengers got off in Adoka, six remained when they were intercepted.”
Ogiri also noted that the police have been informed about the situation.
