Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential hopeful from the 2023 elections, has openly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

He has attributed the ongoing turmoil within the Labour Party directly to the current government.

Obi expressed his views during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Monday.

He noted that the leadership troubles facing the Labour Party are both instigated and maintained by the present administration.

He remarked: “This is the reality we face, right? This is the outcome we witness consistently in Nigeria, as we now reside in a land filled with deceit and fabricated narratives – they create it themselves.

“The challenges we encounter in the Labour Party stem from issues driven and perpetuated by the current government.

“You should not be surprised when a party chairman refers to a state governor in derogatory terms. It’s not just about me feeling weak; it’s a matter of overall sincerity.

“Sure, you might label me weak, but does that apply to everyone else? We’re not being truthful with ourselves.

“When you speak honestly, they resort to name-calling. We now exist in a space filled with falsehoods and manipulations. They aim to create discord even within families.”
