For the past 10 years, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus have had an on-and-off relationship. The two of them broke up and made up many times before finally getting married in December 2018.
However, their marriage only lasted several months as Hemsworth and Cyrus decided to go their separate ways in August 2019. While fans are always curious to know how they feel about each other after the breakup, Hemsworth recently did something big that suggests Cyrus is now ancient history for him.
Why Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus broke up
Hemsworth and Cyrus’ breakup came very suddenly for fans. Most people learned of it after Cyrus’ camp posted a statement on social media explaining why the couple decided to go their separate ways.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” the statement read. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.”
It has also been said that Hemsworth learned of their breakup via news reports and was “blind-sided” by the announcement.
Miley Cyrus moved on from Liam Hemsworth very quickly
On the same day that the breakup announcement was revealed, Cyrus was spotted kissing Kaitlynn Carter in Italy. Carter’s The Hills: New Beginnings co-star Spencer Pratt suggested that Cyrus and Carter “had something going on” for a while now.
“Maybe not physically, but definitely emotionally,” Pratt said of their relationship.
In any case, Cyrus and Carter broke up after a couple of months together. Then, Cyrus moved on to dating Cody Simpson, who she has been friends with for a long time.
Simpson told Hollywood Life: “She’s creative, she’s very passionate about what she does. I’m very similar in that sense, so I think that’s why we get along so well… We both met back in the day when we were partying a lot and we like, had a lot of fun then, but now we found each other in a space where we’re not partying, working real hard, and it just keeps things healthy.”

Cyrus is not the only one who has found a new relationship. Hemsworth himself seems to be moving on as well.
Back in October, he was linked to Australian actress Maddison Brown. However, that relationship did not become anything serious.
Nevertheless, it recently came out that he has another girl in his life: Australian model Gabriella Brooks. Things look like they might be serious for Hemsworth and Brooks because she was spotted having lunch with his parents in mid-December.
A source told Us Weekly that Hemsworth is “happy to be moving on” and that he “feels comfortable with Gabriella.”
The fact that Hemsworth has taken the step of introducing his current love interest to his family suggests he’s totally over Cyrus.
Some fans still think Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus will get back together
While Hemsworth and Cyrus are showing that they are content dating other people, some fans still believe that they will not be separated for long. After all, the two of them spent the last 10 years going back and forth between being a couple and not being a couple. Who’s to say that this breakup is the final one?
It is also interesting to note that, while Cyrus has deleted all photo evidence of her relationship with Hemsworth, Hemsworth still has photos of Cyrus on his Instagram account. This only adds to some fans’ belief that he is open to getting back together with her.
For now, no one can say for sure whether Hemsworth and Cyrus will get back together or remain separated for real.
