Black Panther fully obliterated box office records when it was launched final month, so it is smart that we’d already be discussing the potential for a sequel.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige sat down with Entertainment Weekly not too long ago and teased a few potentialities which have us pumped about what’s to come back for the fictitious land of Wakanda. Although Feige admitted the studio hasn’t moved forward with any concrete plans, he did tease we’d probably see extra of the 2 breakout stars of the movie: Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, and Okoye, played by Danai Gurira.
“It’s a balance between leaving people wanting more and then giving them too much,” Feige stated. “I think Shuri’s astounding, and you’ll see much more of her in our universe. Okoye, I think I’d watch three action films just Okoye. I’m not saying we’re doing that, but I’m saying that we’re intrigued by them.”
The probability of a Black Panther sequel may be very excessive as Chadwick Boseman, who performs the feline-suited superhero, has already signed on to star in five Marvel films, and has already filmed three, together with Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, and Avengers: Infinity War. Boseman may also probably star within the fourth Avengers movie, due out May 3, 2019. This leaves another slot open . . . and fingers crossed that is for the Black Panther sequel!
Feige additionally famous that Marvel hoped to “continue” to supply movies with “new locations and lands that have cultural significance all their own” and to “tell stories that represent the world as it is, that represent people who perhaps haven’t seen themselves portrayed in this light in the past.” Sounds like a secure guess that we’ll be getting much more of T’Challa, Shuri, Okoye, & Co. within the close to future.
