Sophia Michaels
Steve Howey has had a lifelong connection with the ocean, stemming from his parents’ involvement in the U.S. Navy. Growing up, Howey lived on a 67-foot yacht called Valkyrien, which was docked at Mariners Village before his family moved it to Baja, California and Mexico. During his time on the boat, Howey interacted with local kids and experienced incredible moments such as seeing Halley’s Comet and swimming with sharks. He also nearly capsized in a gale storm. Howey has fond memories of his time on the ocean and still travels the world today.
