On Friday, General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA), Mr Bolaji Oreagba, revealed that the agency had recorded five container truck accidents in different parts of the state. The Director of the Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq, provided further details in a statement. Oreagba urged motorists, particularly truck owners and drivers, to ensure that their vehicles were in good condition before embarking on any journey.
The accidents occurred at Ketu inward Mile 12; Ojuelegba bridge inward stadium; under the bridge by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja; Ago Palace Road; and Oke-Alfa Bridge inward Jakande Estate. The Ago Palace crash involved a fully-loaded 40-foot containerised truck which had a brake failure and crushed an SUV from the rear. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
