Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley first met when he was nine years old in 2003 at an office party hosted by Corley’s mother, who was his mother’s boss at a real estate firm. Chance recalled that he was instantly smitten with Corley as she performed a dance to Destiny’s Child’s “Independent Women Part 1” as Kelly Rowland. He remembered his dad encouraging him to join in and show off his own dance moves, but Chance refused, knowing he was going to marry her one day. The two didn’t see each other again until 2012 at SXSW in Austin, Texas, where they reconnected and eventually married in 2019.
