48-Year-Old Man Arrested in Abuja for Allegedly Defiling 10-Year-Old Neighbour’s Daughter

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has apprehended a 48-year-old man, Adekola Adeshina, for allegedly defiling his neighbor’s 10-year-old daughter. SP Josephine Adeh, spokesperson of the command, revealed this in a statement on Sunday, March 26, 2023. The suspect was arrested by operatives attached to the Apo Divisional Police Headquarters and confessed to have committed the heinous act multiple times. Rose Solomon, the victim’s mother, reported the case to the command on February 22, 2023.

The Commissioner of Police FCT Command, CP Sadiq Idris Abubakar PhD., mni, has urged parents and guardians to be more attentive to changes in the behavioral pattern of their wards around individuals and ensure that measures are taken to protect them from sexual crimes. The suspect remains in police custody and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
