There were rumors a collaboration might be on the way. Megan Thee Stallion answered questions in interviews whether it was happening.

“Everybody knows I super love Beyoncé,” she told Billboard. “I’m from Houston, she’s from Houston. I’ve been listening to her all my life and she is just somebody that, when I’m feeling like, am I doing the wrong things or am I feeling the wrong way? I just go back and watch her old interviews. I watch her talk about going through the same struggles that I feel like I’m going through right now.”

Fans were later surprised to find out a remix to “Savage” was released and Knowles Carter was on it. Some of the proceeds from the song is going to  Bread of Life, a Houston nonprofit providing disaster relief to those impacted by COVID-19 according to NPR.

Knowles Lawson talked to Entertainment Tonight about getting a shout out on her daughter’s newest music release. “I didn’t know about the ‘Savage’ remix,” she revealed.

There is a line in the remix that says “I’m a boss, I’m a leader, I pull up in my two-seater. And my momma was a savage, think I got this sh*t from Tina.” Knowles Lawson shared her surprise over it.

“That was really, really cute. People started texting me [saying,] ‘Ok, savage,’ and I was like, ‘What are they talking about?’” she said. It turns out Knowles Carter gave her another compliment when she was little. “It’s funny, when I was young, I used to drive a convertible and I used to drive up to Beyoncé’s school and she would say, ‘Mama, you are a hot mama,’” she said.

The mother seems to be very happy. “It fills my heart [and] it’s beautiful,” she said. “I must’ve done something right, right?”

Knowles Lawson also talked about their partnership with Bread of Life. She revealed what worries her about the pandemic.

“I was talking to a friend in Houston and they were having a problem with minorities getting tested,” she said. “So, I was like, ‘What if we create an event to give them free products and groceries certificates and a hot meal and make it a cool thing?’” The #IDidMyPart campaign is encouraging people to get tested COVID-19 in those communities.

Knowles Carter reportedly donated $6 million in response to the coronavirus outbreak. She reportedly supported charities providing food, water, cleaning supplies, medicines, face masks, and hygiene products, according to The Guardian. She also released a statement on her website. Part of it read:

Communities of colour are suffering by epic proportions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Many families live in underserved areas with homes that make it harder to practice social distancing. Communities that were already lacking funds for education, health and housing are now faced with alarming infection rates and fatalities. And these communities lack access to testing and equitable healthcare.
