Jamie Foxx remains hospitalized nearly one week after he “experienced a medical complication” that forced him to stop filming his upcoming movie “Back in Action.” A source confirmed to People Monday that the actor is still in a medical facility in Atlanta undergoing tests as doctors seek answers as to what caused the issue. Another insider told CNN that the 55-year-old “Django Unchained” star was under observation by medical professionals who were “still trying to figure out what exactly happened.”
Foxx’s daughter Corinne revealed his health scare in a lengthy Instagram post Wednesday, saying that due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. While production was reportedly “shut down” on Wednesday in the wake of Foxx’s plight, his stunt double was photographed on set the following day as production started again in his absence.
A source told People over the weekend that Foxx is “steadily improving,” and many of his celebrity pals, including LeBron James and Viola Davis, have sent their well-wishes on social media. Kerry Washington also honored her “movie huzbin” with a sweet message.
Foxx’s health struggles come weeks after he returned to the “Back in Action” set following an alleged meltdown. The incident, which reportedly led him to fire the film’s executive producer, two directors and his driver, also is said to have caused Diaz, 50, to quit acting again.
