Bridget Omolola Oloworaran has successfully been appointed as the Director General of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) by the Nigerian Senate.
The confirmation followed a detailed report from the Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service, chaired by Cyril Fasuyi Oluwole, affirming that she had been thoroughly vetted and is qualified for the role.
According to the report, the nominee holds the necessary educational credentials and faced no hurdles to her appointment, with no opposing petitions lodged against her.
The senator urged a swift confirmation to allow her to take on her new duties promptly.
“I move that the Senate acknowledges and acts on the Committee’s report regarding the confirmation of Oloworaran Omolola Bridget as the Director General of PENCOM.”
Oloworaran, who represents the Kogi West Senatorial District, received endorsements for her skills and qualifications from Senators Sunday Karimi (APC Kogi West) and Jibrin Isah Echocho (Kogi East).
After the voice vote presided over by Deputy Senate President Barau, the confirmation was finalized.
Barau praised the Committee for their careful evaluation of the candidate, expressing confidence that she would effectively enhance the agency’s operations.
