In an interview with Game Informer, Miyazaki revealed it’s up to Sony to decide whether the Demon’s Souls series continues or receives a remaster. This echoes his statement about a Bloodborne sequel. Even though the decision is out of his hands, Miyazaki admitted he’s hesitant to return to the world of Demon’s Souls.
“It’s not that I’m embarrassed, I just don’t like to look at my previous works,” Miyazaki commented. Demon’s Souls was the first game he directed, and, while it was considered a success, his later titles have benefited from his years of experience. Despite this discomfort, Miyazaki said he understood some fans were clamoring for more Demon’s Souls content. Though the concept makes him nervous, he would be open to a remaster or sequel by a trusted studio.
