It’s unclear whether the 2023 Emmy Awards will go forward as planned on Sept. 18, with the Writers Guild of America on strike and a Screen Actors Guild strike looming, but they’re moving ahead as far as nominations go.
On July 12, the Television Academy announced this year’s Emmy nominations, and standout nominees include “Succession” in its final season, with stars tapped in every drama acting category, and popular series like “The White Lotus,” “Ted Lasso,” and “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.” Television fans were surprised to see fan-favorite stars like the cast of “The House of the Dragon” passed over for nominations, however. Other snubs included Selena Gomez and Steve Martin for “Only Murders in the Building.”
