Prophet Austin Ariole, the General Overseer of Goshen Freedom Tabernacle, GFT in Effurun, Delta State has complained of the dire consequences of removing fuel subsidy.
According to him, fuel subsidy removal is another punishment on Nigerian citizens.
Speaking during a sermon at the church’s midweek service in Effurun, the clergyman lamented that the move has subjected Nigerians to abject poverty. He expressed worry that the people’s income did not increase with the removal of the subsidy.
He said, “fuel vanishes into thin air. You cannot buy 10 litres and use it for three hours. That itself is another punishment for man. You cannot use 10 litres fuel for three days.”
While noting that both past and present governments have failed with their agendas, Prophet Ariole said, “if you say you will not pay subsidy, let the people continue to suffer.”
He also emphasised the high rate of unemployment, insecurity, corruption and untold economic hardships in the country, saying these are the result of the wickedness of man.
Prophet said the only way Nigeria can survive and come out from wickedness is to listen to deep-minded thoughts.
He urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his advisers to listen to the voice of reasoning to move the nation into the Ark of God which he christened as a “symbol of an institution of discipline”.
