The government has announced the construction of 40 residences for Justices of various courts, including the Court of Appeal, Federal High Court, and FCT High Courts. The decision was made to enhance the living conditions of the justices.
The announcement was made by Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, during a groundbreaking ceremony for the Court of Appeal’s Abuja division complex in Dakibiyu, Jabi District, Abuja. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved this initiative.
Additionally, retirement homes will be constructed for heads of courts such as the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, FCT Chief Judge, National Industrial Court President, and Court of Appeal President. Minister Wike mentioned that the construction of these homes will commence in August with a target to hand over the keys by September next year.
Recently, the Minister also launched the first Taxi and Bus terminal in Kugbo, Karu District, as part of efforts to improve public transportation and enhance security in the FCT.
