With its coastal advantages, Quang Ninh has great potential for green and renewable energy development. The region is prioritizing the development of renewable energy sources, especially wind power energy due to its geographical location and abundant renewable energy resources.

The province is considered a national electricity production center with a diverse electricity transmission system and the potential to generate approximately 13 GW of offshore wind power. Furthermore, the Prime Minister has approved a LNG power project in the province to contribute to the national grid with approximately 9 billion kWh of electricity per year.

Quang Ninh also plans to develop wind power with a total capacity of 5,000 MW in the future. The focus will be on promoting green industrial development and increasing the contribution of high-tech processing and manufacturing industries.

Employment Statistics in Vietnam

The General Statistics Office has reported an increase in the number of employed labourers in the last six months, reaching 51.4 million. The rate of people joining the labour force was reported at 68.6% during the second quarter. The percentage of Vietnamese workers with degrees or certificates also saw an increase compared to the previous quarter.

The unemployment rate among the working-age population remained unchanged at 2.27% compared to the same period last year. The average income of workers in the first half of 2024 also witnessed a rise. Despite these positive trends, challenges remain in the labour market, with improvements needed in the quality of labourers.

Contributions of People-to-People Diplomacy in Hanoi’s Development

People-to-people diplomacy activities have played a significant role in the development of Hanoi, as highlighted in a recent conference held by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO). Hanoi aims to expand cooperation with other capitals, leverage external resources for development, and enhance cultural and economic exchanges with international partners.

In the upcoming period, HUFO will focus on strengthening people-to-people diplomacy in line with relevant resolutions and directives. The organization will also work on developing partnerships with foreign NGOs for humanitarian activities and organizing events to celebrate historical milestones and enhance international relations.
