Ali Ndume Reacts to Removal as Senate Chief Whip and Rejects Committee Appointment

Ali Ndume, the Senator representing Borno South, expressed his discontent at being removed as the Chief Whip of the 10th Assembly. He believes he was treated unfairly and insists his actions did not justify his dismissal.

Ali Ndume, speaking from his home in Maiduguri, expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision made by Senate President Godswill Akpabio. He refused the appointment as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Tourism, citing his lack of expertise and international exposure for the role.

He clarified that he never aspired to be a senate whip again after holding the position in the previous senate. Ndume disclosed that he had the opportunity to select which committee to serve as the vice chairman, after playing a key role in Akpabio’s election as Senate President.
