During the period of July 25 and July 26, more than 252,000 individuals, constituting over 5,600 delegations, paid their respects to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, as stated by the National Funeral Organizing Committee.
The memorial services were conducted at the National Funeral Hall in Hanoi, the Reunification Hall in Ho Chi Minh City, and the hometown of the Party Chief in Dong Anh district, drawing participation from leaders, ministries, local authorities, armed forces, international organizations, and members of the public.
Delegations amounting to 136,886 individuals visited the National Funeral Hall, 56,600 individuals paid their respects in Dong Anh, and 58,532 individuals attended at the Reunification Hall in Ho Chi Minh City to honor the late General Secretary.
An estimated total of 100 international delegations were present at the memorial services held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, more than 483,000 people used the VNeID electronic condolence book to convey their sympathies for the bereaved family.
Extended visitation hours were arranged at the National Funeral Hall in Hanoi until midnight, while in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Anh, the hours were prolonged until 11 pm due to the high number of mourners on July 25.
Furthermore, both national and international delegations, including representatives from 101 countries/territories and 21 international organizations, conveyed their condolences through various channels, with leaders from multiple countries attending the memorial services.
Moreover, overseas Vietnamese representatives and diplomatic missions also paid their respects at the Government Guest House in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, respectively.
Additionally, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received visits from over 3,000 delegations at 94 Vietnamese representative offices abroad.
