The Senate expressed deep sadness regarding the untimely passing of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah on Saturday, July 27. Ubah, who represented Anambra South Senatorial District, passed away in London following a short illness.
In a statement by spokesperson Yemi Adaramodu, the Senate described Ubah as a remarkable leader, dedicated public servant, and unwavering advocate for his constituents. His death is seen as a significant loss to the Senate, Anambra State, and the nation as a whole.
Prior to his public service, Senator Ubah was a respected businessman and philanthropist whose contributions will be greatly missed, noted the Senate.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, extended heartfelt sympathies to Ubah’s family, emphasizing that his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
Akpabio praised Ubah as a dedicated and enthusiastic lawmaker who made a lasting impression on the country through his service in the Senate. The Senate conveyed its sincerest condolences to Ubah’s family, friends, constituents, as well as the government and people of Anambra State.
The memory of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah will forever be cherished, and his contributions to the nation’s advancement will continue to serve as an inspiration to all, Akpabio added.
