After an almost two-year break, Chloë Grace Moretz returned in the 2018 film, The Miseducation of Cameron Post. “I had taken a little break to figure out exactly what project I wanted to do next that felt like it really connected to me and said something about who I am,” she told The New York Times. “And the first thing that ticked all those boxes was The Miseducation of Cameron Post.” She also made headlines during her time away for dating Brooklyn Beckham.
Moretz has done a handful of other movies since The Miseducation of Cameron Post, including Greta (2018), Suspiria, (2018), and voicing Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family (2019).
The outspoken actress also starred in 2017’s I Love You, Daddy opposite Louis C.K., but after sexual misconduct allegations came out against the comedian, the movie was delayed indefinitely. When asked by Times if the movie should be released, Moretz candidly replied, “I think it should just kind of go away, honestly. Of course, it’s devastating to put time into a project and have it disappear. But at the same time, this [Me Too] movement is so powerful and so progressive that I’m just happy to… see the big change in the face of the industry, which I think is very, very real.”
The 23-year-old’s next project is the 2020 film, Tom and Jerry. And as she teased in her birthday Instagram post, it’s “going to be a special year.”
