Bonsai enthusiasts in Vietnam have created stunning living sculptures that captivate all who see them, showcasing intricate designs and vibrant green foliage.

One notable Sanh tree located outside a jewelry store in Nam Dinh province has garnered attention for its size, shape, and lush foliage. Planted over 40 years ago by Luu Van Chuc, the tree has been meticulously cared for and shaped by Doan Van Tuyen for the past 30 years.

This Sanh tree, with a dense canopy and over 35 canopies, symbolizes prosperity, growth, and family unity. Standing 5 meters tall and over 6 meters wide, it has been styled in the “old man” shape, resembling an inverted conical hat.

Tuyen and his wife dedicate themselves to watering and pruning the tree daily, ensuring its dense foliage flourishes. Despite losing some height due to road construction, the tree remains a magnificent sight.

Another noteworthy Sanh tree, forming a gate at Tran Van Viet’s residence, has also become a local attraction. Comprised of four Sanh trees standing 6 meters tall and spanning 10 meters wide, Viet meticulously sculpts and shapes this “flying fairy gate” over the years.

Using strong-rooted Sanh trees, Viet carefully crafts a two-tiered roof with flowing lines, creating a breathtaking masterpiece that continues to evolve. Despite 16 years of shaping, he aims to complete the final star feature on the gate in the coming months.

Viet’s dedication to shaping and maintaining the “flying fairy gate” showcases his commitment to transforming these Sanh trees into a work of art for all to admire.
