This center is set to become the central hub of AI in Ho Chi Minh City, driving CMC’s initiative for AI transformation and positioning Vietnam prominently on the international technology landscape.
Designed to provide advanced services on a large scale, the data center offers AI-as-a-Service, Cloud solutions, Big Data capabilities, and Cybersecurity features. It incorporates state-of-the-art technologies including XGS-PON, SD-WAN, SASE, and an 800G DWDM optical transport network, ensuring optimal bandwidth, minimal latency, and secure connections from core to edge.
A key innovation of the center is its Digital Twin system, allowing for real-time simulations and operational monitoring to enhance performance. With integration of renewable energy, it adheres to international Green DC standards. The initial design supports a 30 MW capacity, expandable to 120 MW, to cater to extensive AI computing needs and the growth of the digital economy.
The investment by CMC exemplifies a broader strategic vision, building on its cloud platform (CMC Cloud), AI ecosystem (C.OpenAI), and advanced Tier III data centers. This hyperscale expansion positions Vietnam prominently within Southeast Asia’s data infrastructure landscape and prepares it to attract significant global tech and AI companies.
The facility will strengthen two main areas of digital transformation:
CMC Cloud – Vietnam’s homegrown cloud solution.
C.OpenAI – An open ecosystem consisting of 25 proprietary AI technologies, which include Computer Vision, LLMs, Voice Processing, and Datalakehouse architecture.
CMC’s AI solutions are already making global waves: C.Face is recognized among the Top 12 worldwide and ranks first in Vietnam according to NIST; C.OCR is utilized in SmartDocs; CLS acts as a legal AI assistant; AI Camera and AI Box products are widely adopted. Notably, CMC ATI’s CATI-VLM model achieved Top 12 in the 2025 Robust Reading Competition, surpassing GPT-4 Vision Turbo, Amazon Textract, Baidu, and Deepseek.

Beyond its technological advancements, the Hyperscale Data Center holds national significance. CMC is collaborating with Ho Chi Minh City and the C4IR Vietnam Center (part of the World Economic Forum’s Fourth Industrial Revolution network) to create Vietnam’s inaugural AI City model. This project aligns with Resolution 57 on science, technology, and innovation, as well as Resolution 68, which encourages private sector participation in economic progress.
This infrastructure enhances Ho Chi Minh City’s attractiveness to R&D centers, AI startups, venture capital, and tech institutions, positioning the city as Southeast Asia’s digital nucleus.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh, Chairman & Executive President of CMC Corporation, remarked: “We view the CMC Hyperscale Data Center SHTP not merely as a standard data facility, but as vital infrastructure for transforming Ho Chi Minh City into a regional Digital Hub. Vietnamese enterprises will have unprecedented access to premier computing resources, eliminating the need to transfer data overseas. This initiative underscores our commitment to the objectives of Resolution 57 and Resolution 68.”

As part of its international strategy, CMC envisions AI as the key for Vietnam’s global competitiveness. The new data center will provide AI-as-a-Service, Big Data-as-a-Service, and Cyber Security-as-a-Service, extending to international markets. This initiative is not just infrastructure; it’s CMC’s assertion of its technological prowess and a goal to collaborate with global cities in a new chapter of digital and AI evolution.
