The quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, revealed an interesting influence Taylor Swift had on his NFL teammate Travis Kelce, which led to a significant decision that Kelce had resisted for years.
Kelce takes his appearance seriously but also enjoys adding a touch of fun to his style, particularly with his hair. However, there was one aspect he was unwavering on until his relationship with the pop sensation Swift began around September 2023, leading to a transformation.
“I’ve been trying to get him to grow his hair out,” revealed Mahomes on SiriusXM NFL Radio (Ch. 88). “And all of a sudden, Taylor gets him to do it.”
Kelce will showcase his new hairstyle when he plays against the Baltimore Ravens on the opening night of the 2024/25 NFL season on September 5, in a rematch of the AFC Conference Championship game that they emerged victorious in with a score of 17-10.
The Chiefs aim to secure a third consecutive Super Bowl title, a feat never achieved before, after triumphing over the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023 and the San Francisco 49ers in 2024.
Reason Behind Kelce’s Hair Change
Kelce typically sported a simple buzzcut, a practical choice for the summer months in the United States. However, this year, he has opted for a different look by letting his hair grow out, revealing a surprising amount of hair to work with.
Interestingly, Swift was fond of Kelce’s buzzcut, raising curiosity about her opinion on his longer hairstyle as he prepares for the upcoming NFL season.
“It’s more to put a smile on people’s faces,” shared Donna Kelce about her son’s unique style on The Martha Stewart Podcast. “At times, I mean, he’ll dress the way he needs to, but most of the time, he’s doing it to make people laugh or talk.
“And he loves being at the center of attention, which we all know.”
