Kassia, a contestant on Big Brother Naija Season 9, confided in Biggie about her exhaustion from acting as her husband Kellyrae’s best friend.
During her diary session with Big Brother, she opened up about her struggles with maintaining the facade.
Early on in the season, Kassia and Kellyrae, collectively known as DoubleKay, decided to present themselves as best friends in the house despite being married, as a strategic move.
However, after over two weeks of role-playing, Kassia admitted to Biggie that she was finding it increasingly challenging to continue the charade.
“This whole bestie act is really wearing me down, sometimes all I want to do is be close to him [Kellyrae] but I can’t because of this ‘bestie’ label we’ve put on,” she expressed.
“During tasks like the recent Aquafina Padi of Life challenge, I felt restricted in expressing myself fully as I didn’t want the other housemates to catch on to our marital status. It’s been tough, Big Brother.”
Meanwhile, Kellyrae shared his strategy to divert attention from his relationship with Kassia by creating a perception that he is interested in Anita and Handi.
“I plan to give off the impression that I have a keen interest in Handi and Anita to shift the focus away from Kassia and me,” he disclosed.
