Drena De Niro, the daughter of iconic actor Robert De Niro, celebrated her father’s 81st birthday with a fun and heartwarming Instagram video.
In the video, the “Goodfellas” star displayed his adventurous side by jumping off a yacht into the ocean, showcasing their close bond in a playful manner.
Playful Celebration
The video showed Robert De Niro, in red-and-blue striped Vilebrequin swim shorts, diving headfirst off the yacht into the water but landing on his back, causing some concern from his daughter, Drena.
Drena exclaimed, “He’s so crazy. Oh my God. Oh my God. Are you alright?” as her father emerged from the water.
Reassuringly, he replied, “I’m OK,” playfully bantering with his daughter who labeled him “sick” and “crazy” for the adventurous leap. Drena inquired about the height of the jump, and a yacht staff member confirmed it was 36 feet.
Birthday Wishes Pour In
The Instagram post by Drena received numerous birthday wishes from fans and well-wishers, expressing love and admiration for the legendary actor.
“Happy 81st Bday to my Dad and #1 ride or die. Love you with all my heart #BobbyD forever,” wrote Drena.
Fans joined in with comments like, “HBD to 1 of 1, New York’s finest” and “Happy Birthday to The Best Actor In The World,” showcasing their affection for Robert De Niro.
Remembrance and Reflection
The Instagram post also featured a throwback photo of Robert with Drena’s late son, Leandro. Drena, who was adopted by Robert during his marriage to Diahnne Abbott, openly expressed her grief after Leandro’s passing in July 2023.
