A daughter of the famous Hollywood couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has successfully gone through the process of dropping Pitt’s name from her identity.
Shiloh, their second-oldest daughter who is 18 years old, has officially had her name changed approved by a judge in Los Angeles Superior Court, as reported by People, TMZ, and Page Six.
Shiloh Jolie was originally known as Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt but on her 18th birthday on May 27, she formally requested to legally drop the Pitt from her name.
Following the legal procedures in California, Jolie publicly posted notices of her intention to change her name to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie in a local newspaper before her court hearing.
Angelina and Brad’s separation
Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in September 2016, although the divorce has not been finalized even after almost eight years.
In May, it was reported that Vivienne, another daughter of the couple, also went by her first and middle name in the Playbill credits for the Broadway musical “The Outsiders,” which was produced by Jolie.
Brad and Angelina have been entangled in a legal dispute over a winery that they previously ran together for several years.
In a filing made in July, Pitt’s legal team requested the exclusion of Jolie’s demand for his private conversations, including those from a family trip in 2016 where Pitt was alleged to have mistreated Jolie and their children while on a private jet.
“These private, third-party communications are irrelevant to the matters and claims in this case,” the filing stated, as reported by USA TODAY. “However, Jolie is insistent on obtaining them as she aims to transform this business disagreement into a revisit of the former couple’s divorce proceedings.”
