Mo Salah Focusing on Enjoying Final Season Amid Liverpool Contract Speculation

Mo Salah 'wants to enjoy final season' in HUGE Liverpool contract update

In a significant update, Liverpool’s Mo Salah has expressed his approach towards a potential contract extension with the club.

The 32-year-old Egyptian forward is in the final year of his current contract at Liverpool, with talks regarding an extension yet to make substantial progress.

Salah’s contract is set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 season, along with fellow players Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, with the latter being linked to a move to Real Madrid.

While van Dijk’s stance on extending his contract remains more open, Salah’s recent comments suggest that he is choosing to stay focused on the present moment.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Salah mentioned, “Before the season, I was just like ‘I’ve got one year left, let’s just enjoy it and don’t think about the contract. I don’t want to think about next year or the future, I just want to enjoy the last year [of my contract] and let’s see. The most important thing is to take one day at a time and just be grateful to be here.”

Salah’s enigmatic remarks have left fans eagerly watching as the season unfolds, aware that he can engage in discussions with non-Premier League clubs starting from 2025.

Since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017, Salah has become a key figure in Jurgen Klopp’s teams that clinched both Premier League and UEFA Champions League titles.

Throughout his successful tenure at Liverpool, Salah has scored 213 goals in 351 appearances, securing the fifth spot in Liverpool’s all-time goal scorers list. Additionally, his 157 Premier League goals make him the top scorer in the club’s history in the competition.
